This winter has been unusual to say the least for golfers. Above normal temperatures have kept golfers playing throughout the winter in this year when normally we are covered in snow. The lack of snow has definitely benefited the courses by lowered stress from snow mold and crown dessication in the greens.

However, the lengthened play time does have it’s compromises to the turf.With the turf dormant, it is particularly important to replace divots and repair ball marks as they will not heal until soil temps are back into the 50 degree range in spring. Also cart traffic can cause damage for the same reason so golfers are urged to remain off low lying areas, 30 feet from green complexes, and to use cartpaths as much as possible. Each golf course managed by Vargo offers discount cards paired with pricing that gives golfers incentives to return. Vargo Golf is now featuring a tour card that is good for all the golf courses they manage. The card will give customers $4 off weekday 18 hole rounds and $6 off weekend rounds all season long.  Vargo Tour discount cards will be available in all pro shops and at the Novi show.

Bring your junior golfer to The Myth  located in Oakland County, Mi. for a fun summer camp at The Little Myth par 3 golf course. Choose Monday or Wednesday  junior golf league session for 6 weeks (non-consecutive to allow for July vacations.) Myth is located north of Rochester and East of Lake Orion in Oakland, Michigan.

Junior golf Camp begins at 11:00 am and runs to 2:00 p.m. Lunch, group instruction and a golf gift is included for the 6 sessions with a cost of $145 per junior golfer. Ages range from 6 years old to 13 years old and details can be found at the Myth website. Small wedding at Bruce Hills Golf Club in Macomb, Mi.

Bruce Hills golf club is located off of VanDyke expressway and 34 mile road. It  is north of Romeo and features a two level clubhouse. It has a charming upper ballroom that can accommodate small formal wedding receptions and showers.

The views are spectacular from the outdoor balcony and windows. Bruce Hills menus are executed by the Myth catering division, a well known banquet hall 10 minutes South west of Bruce Hills. Myth and Bruce Hills is owned by Rob Vargo of Vargo golf company. Myth chefs prepare wedding and shower choices and the menus are finished at Bruce Hills for their events.

Military discounts are available at the Myth Golf and banquets near Rochester Michigan. Military weddings are discounted during the 2013 months of January through March. Winter weddings are beautiful at the Myth with the featured panoramic views and the rustic, chic banquet hall.

The winter wedding special includes beer, wine, and mixed drinks, an elegant buffet, coat check, use of the cocktail room, tax, gratuity, and room charge for $50 per person.

Onsite weddings indoors can be arranged as well. Myth Golf and Banquets is located just north of Rochester, Mi. in Oakland County next to Lake Orion. Hotels with shuttle included can be reserved nearby.
